EIGHT LANES IN THE MIND CONVERGING INTO ONE TO VERBALIZE. DISTRACTION, EXCITABILITY, PROCRASTINATION, VERBAL VERBOSITY, RACING THOUGHTS, INERTIA WITH TASKS. THE PANIC OF TIME, NEEDING MORE, NEVER HAVING ENOUGH. ATTENTION THAT IS ADRIFT ON IT’S OWN OCEAN. CREATIVITY AND ENERGY AND INCREDIBLE DETERMINATION TO GET THROUGH A WORLD THAT IS NOT BUILT FOR ADHD OF ANY SHAPE AND SIZE.

Do you suspect you have ADHD? Were you diagnosed as a child? Did you or do you struggle with school? Where you told you were stupid or lazy? Do you believe you are incompetent, unable to study, focus, manage a job, manage relationships, manage all the moving parts of life? As the world becomes more aware of ADHD it is beginning to adjust slowly, as seen in schools with accommodations for ADHD, such as the allowance of fidget toys, the allowance of extra time to write exams in quiet rooms. We are heading in a good direction, but the struggle to exist with ADHD in the world such as it is, is still no easy feat.

Having a proper diagnosis of ADHD helps, though this can be quite expensive. The reason it helps is to gain the proper details of your particular version of ADHD. You may have primarily inattentive, or hyperactive-impulsive, or a combination of the two. Understanding as much as you can about ADHD can also help on a number of levels: to normalize what you’ve been experiencing, to validate that it is ADHD and NOT stupidity, laziness, or incompetency, to put words to what can be improved, to give insights into solutions.

You are not alone. Help is out there.
